The Meaning of Life according to Spirit
Recently I met with a new client who had special requested an emergency appointment in the hopes that they could connect with their newly departed Dad before his memorial service was scheduled.
They explained that their Dad was an atheist and they had had lengthy conversations over the course of his 3 year illness about what comes next. He adamantly believed that nothing would happen. Lights out, that was the end.
As believers in the continuation of consciousness after death, this belief saddened a few of his loved ones. And so, they had booked a session in the hopes that he had transitioned to the spirit world and would be ready to communicate about what he's learned. And of course, they wanted to know that he was okay.
Within 60 seconds of the start of our session together, their Dad made undeniable contact. Beginning with his name. Receiving names in a mediumship connection does not always happen and it's something that mediums love to receive from spirit as we know it is undeniable evidence for their loved ones to hear. Her Dad also provided the name of living loved one whom he wanted to thank for taking care of his family.
I could write a whole book on the amazing and incredibly awe inspiring evidence that came through in this session for his family, to be honest. He was an incredibly accomplished human in life and had a brilliant mind. This was so evident in the careful and meticulous way he communicated through me and in the information he shared.
In the last few minutes of the session, I asked if they had any questions that they wanted to ask their Dad about. They said their sister had an important question that she wanted to know.
The question was "What is the most important thing that Dad would like us to talk about at his upcoming memorial service?"
A big question, that's for sure. And what came through made an impact on not just his family but on myself as a fellow Soul living in this crazy human experience.
He said tell them that the family makes the man. It's not about the boxes you tick off and all of the personal and professional successes you achieve, although that of course is important to your Soul's evolution. It's about the relationships you have and the people you impact positively in your life. That's what really truly matters, he said confidently from his newly acquired yet amazingly familiar spirit self.
"The true meaning of life is in the people you love, relate to, learn from, positively impact. That's it, that's the legacy. That's what you're here for."
My client sat in front of me with their jaw slightly ajar.
"Have you ever said that to anyone else in a reading?" they asked. I said that no, I don't believe I ever have and in fact have never been asked that question as usually I am connecting to a Spirit person after their memorial service.
They shared with me that that response was so validating because one of the last meaningful conversations they had had with their Dad before his death was in sharing about about who he was as a father. That yes, he was incredibly successful professionally but really what they'd remember was who he was as Dad. The childhood memories and decades of experiences with him. And they shared that although their Dad was not an overly emotional guy, this conversation had made him incredibly emotional.
He shared to me in response to this, that they were right. Of course, they were right about everything. That yes, there is a continuation of consciousness of life, the afterlife is real and amazing (he said he was like a kid in a candy store!) and that the meaning of life was about the people we share our lives with.
