What is a Psychic Medium?

A psychic medium is a person who is sensitive to extrasensory stimuli and uses this sensitivity to connect with and communicate for loved ones in Spirit and for the living.

Every psychic medium has their own abilities and specialities, which means that no set list of requirements really defines a medium other than a medium has the ability to connect and communicate with those no longer on the Earth plane.

Mental Mediumship

Mental Mediumship is the type of mediumship that you may be most aware of and is the type of mediumship that Amy is gifted in. Mental Mediumship means the medium experiences the connection with Spirit in the mind, not in the physical sense.

The Six Clair Senses

Some ways in which a mental medium will experience a Spirit person is through 6 psychic senses also known as 'Clair Senses'. These are much like your physical senses except they are experienced in the mind of a medium.

Physical Mediumship

Another type of mediumship is Physical Mediumship, which is less common in current times. A Physical medium is said to physically blend with the energy of the Spirit person and the Spirit speaks and moves through the medium.

The main difference between these two types is that in mental mediumship, the medium blends mentally with the Spirit person and uses his/her own abilities and life experiences to interpret and communicate the messages on behalf of the Spirit person. In physical mediumship, the medium is a physical vessel for the Spirit person to act out his/her messages with the medium's body. Amy experiences mental mediumship and channels Spirit's messages via spoken and written words.

Psychic, Medium, or Both?

A psychic connects to the energy of the living, while a medium connects to those in Spirit. Many people use the terms interchangeably, and a psychic medium does both. I often describe it as switching stations on a radio: one moment I'm bringing forward guidance for you, and the next I'm connecting to your loved ones. What Happens in a Reading?

In a mediumship reading, I connect to your loved ones in Spirit and share specific evidence, such as who they were, what they looked like and what mattered to them, so you know it's really them. That's called evidential mediumship. In an intuitive guidance session I connect to you instead.
